What is the most important for getting into MIT or Stanford?
Could you guys please answer my question. I'm a sophomore and I want to get into MIT or Stanford, what would be the next best thing to do for me? This is my activities so far . . .
Activity 1
FIRST Robotics - 9,10
Awards: 2nd place Innovate Award at the World Championship; 2nd place Inspire Award at Pennsylvania State Competition; Two 1st place Inspire Awards at Regional Qualifiers; 1st place Control Award at Regional Qualifier; 1st place Connect Award at Regional Qualifier; Winning Alliance Captain at Regional Qualifier.

JV Academic Team - 9,10

School Newspaper - 10

Please tell me what I should do to get into MIT or Stanford馃檹馃檹馃檹馃檹
This all looks fine, but my question is WHAT IS YOUR PASSION? That's also the question MIT and Stanford are going to ask. If you really want me to be honest with you, right now I don't see a pattern or anything in your activities. The great news is you're only a sophomore! You have time! Find you passion (your motivation), recognize your shift (a moment you realized that passion), and make IMPACT. These schools look for future leaders and unique human beings, not numbers. Try to hone in one a few activities you're REALLY passionate about and rise up in leadership. When addressing these in your application it's really important to highlight how these activities made you grow, but also how you used them to make a difference. Best of luck!
