UIUC Transfer to Gies
Hello,
I am trying to transfer to the Gies College of Business at UIUC. I am currently a freshman at Saint Joseph's in New York, but I graduated from an Illinois high school. I ended with a 3.94 during my first year. I finished with an A in Macro and an A in English, among other classes. And I plan to take Intro to CS and Micro and Statistics next semester. What are my chances of getting into UIUC. My intended Major will either Accounting or Finance depending on which one is more easier to get into

UIUC generally recommends a transfer GPA of ~3.5 or higher for Gies, and the average admitted transfer is often around 3.8+. Your 3.94 after freshman year is very strong and puts you in a competitive spot academically.
The admissions review also looks at whether you complete key prerequisite courses (micro, macro, statistics, etc.) and that you perform well in them. You鈥檙e already planning Intro to CS, Micro, and Statistics, which is exactly the kind of coursework that strengthens your application.

Hello, I ended up with a 3.88 and got A's in all prerequisite courses, and I will/have all the prerequisite courses, and I think I have a pretty strong essay. What are my chances of getting in as a illnois in state but a out of state 4 yr college and i work 32-40 hours a week. im also planning for to apply for finance
