Is it reasonable?
I am a Junior in the United States, and have been looking at UK Universities. I think Oxford is easier to get in to than Cambridge, and was wondering if it was reasonable to meet their entry requirements.
- 3x APs with 5s on all of them.
- 31+ on the ACT or 1460 on the SAT.
So far, I have taken 2 APs (AP Human Geography, 4; AP United States History, 4), and am taking two this year (AP Macroeconomics, AP Spanish), and I might self-study AP World History (I am taking Honours World). I have also taken my PSAT (1200), and have plans to take 2 SATs, the first in December 2025 and the second in March 2026.
Yes, it is quite reasonable to apply to them. They look at more than just the numbers, though. Make sure your application has things like extracurriculars and some job experience, and/or volunteering. You could also apply to colleges that offer studying abroad, which would give you a new experience of leaving your home country.
