Same Paper, New Conference: Is It Acceptable in Academia?

Hi everyone,

I鈥檓 currently preparing my research paper for presentation, and I wanted to get some clarity on an important academic question: Is it acceptable to present the same research paper at more than one conference? I've already presented my paper at a national-level academic event, but now I see an opportunity to share the same findings at an international conference with a broader audience.

I鈥檓 aware that journals usually require original content, but I鈥檓 not sure about the expectations or ethical guidelines when it comes to conferences. Do different academic fields have different rules for this? Would I need to disclose the previous presentation? Is there a risk of rejection or academic misconduct if I present the same work again?

I鈥檇 appreciate insights from researchers, students, and faculty members who have experience with this. Your advice will help me and many others understand how to navigate conference submissions the right way.
