Good PSAT Score-1160?Answered
Hi!
I have an open mind on what colleges I would like to attend, and I鈥檓 trying to figure out what kinds of colleges I can get into with an 8th grade PSAT score of 1160. I got 680 in Reading and Writing and 480 in Math. However, when I took that PSAT last year, our teacher hadn鈥檛 taught us the Advanced Math and Trig sections, so to be fair I think I could do better now in math. I want to get into a good college but not one where I鈥檓 drowning in debt the rest of my life if I don鈥檛 get a great scholarship. I know my 8th grade PSAT won鈥檛 actually affect my college admissions, but I鈥檓 just wondering, compared to that, how I鈥檒l do my junior/senior year. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

Wow, look at you, 8th grade and already worrying about college admissions! Jokes aside, you have a really good score for an 8th grader, especially for English. You鈥檒l be taking the PSAT again for 9th, 10th, and possibly 11th, so you鈥檒l be able to see your growth prior to the SAT. Whatever you鈥檙e doing, keep doing it (but of course always aim for higher). I鈥檓 sure you鈥檒l do good in the SAT, be proud of your score!
