Officer positions help

Hey guys! 

So I鈥檓 currently a junior and Key Club Historian at my school. We are holding elections at our April meeting and my sponsor was asking us who鈥檚 running... the one position I wanted to run for is no longer being offered lol (it鈥檚 senior representative). I鈥檓 scared that I won鈥檛 be elected again for a position senior year and I鈥檓 thinking about running historian again. The chances of me getting it are pretty slim honesty, but we鈥檒l see how it goes. I was just wondering if I should put this on my college application even if I only had an officer position one year. I know I will be Vice President of another organization next year and I will be hopefully Editor in Chief of the school newspaper next year as well... I鈥檓 trying to get into University of Florida, so I鈥檓 hoping this doesn鈥檛 ruin my university chances lol.

I think it makes sense for you to run again. If you end up getting the position that's a positive for your application. Even without getting an officer position I think you should still put it on your application, it will show you are still committed to the club. You won't know without trying. 

Plus, if you do get Vice President and Editor-in-Chief for the other clubs those are high leadership positions and will be looked at positively by schools. But not having an officer position for one year of Key Club will not ruin your chances at University of Florida

Definitely run again!  Even if you don't get the position, at least you took a chance and tried.  Colleges will love to see that you at least participated in student government, so definitely put it on applications.
