This is a good question! Fair warning, it can be pretty difficult to find internships as a sophomore. But if you can find one it will be worth it. Check out this link and see if any of these are in your area: If you can't get an internship then I think shadowing or volunteering is your next best bet probably. Look for opportunities at health clinics, hospitals, women鈥檚 clinics, or elder care facilities. Those might not seem as "impactful" as an internship but if you can show commitment to them it will look good on your application.

I agree that it may be a bit difficult to find some solid internships as a sophomore, but not impossible! Volunteering at your local clinic or hospital could be a great stepping stone to getting a internship down the line and can help you gain some knowledge on the medical field overall. It might also be helpful to attend medical workshops or seminars (both local and out of state) to network with nurses/doctors, I've seen many of my friends land internships simply by putting themselves out there. Great work on getting started early with EC's, it'll def pay off in the long run!
