i'm in my senior year of high school, my gpa is really low due to the fact I wasn't able to manage death and school all at once. i kind of feel like i ruined my chances for college but i've been dreaming about this for so long, i'm really focused on school right now but i'm only taking 5 classes this year and i have all A's right now, no aps or honors classes, im joining clubs, and hopefully trying to get a 4.0 this year. is there any way this will bump my gpa up, i have a 2.8 and im very ashamed of it

i had a similar issue during my sophomore and junior year. unfortunately, ur gpa is kinda set in stone for college apps, but write abt what happened and how u intent to grow in the additional information section of the common app. schools read this and take it into account. it is obvious that u care abt ur grades, so write abt it. if u want further advice, lmk!
Unfortunately: yes, and no. Getting your GPA as high as possible would be beneficial, and letting colleges know what happened. Understand Grade Point does not exactly determine one's "smarts," but it is a tool that colleges use in selections. Show effort and determination to achieve a goal, and you will get it. Good luck.<3
Getting all A's will boost your unweighted GPA, but without taking more rigorous courses, your weighted GPA will likely not be affected much, which is ok. Try to take harder classes if you can, but if you can't don't stress about it, and work on strengthening your ECs and find leadership roles. Hope this helps!
