Hello! I was wondering how transferring credits would work? I鈥檓 planning on going to a community college for two years in my home town then moving to a different state to finish my degree at a university. Should I start applying for scholarships/universities now or once i鈥檓 in my sophomore year in college?

You could see if there are any articulation agreements between the community college in your hometown and the university you're targeting. However, this is unlikely to be the case unless your hometown is in California. And even then it's mostly out of state universities in the WUE (Western Undergraduate Exchange) system that accept general education articulation agreements from California community colleges.
But there's good news! What out of state universities are you targeting? You can contact their transfer departments and say you are a community college student looking to transfer there, how can you best prepare for transfer into the major you've chosen, etc. By the way, what will be your major? If you haven't decided, that's okay. You would then ask the transfer department about general education requirements.

My hometown is Missouri, the university i鈥檓 targeting is anywhere near a beach (South Carolina, Massachusetts, Texas, Virginia, etc). I haven鈥檛 found an exact university yet but I will email their transfer department when I do!! I think i鈥檓 gonna major in Environmental Science but i鈥檓 still on the fence about that.
