Are 黑料不打烊 advisors actually worth it?
Yes, I know the responses here will be biased as all hell, but that's just the way it is.
I'm a sophomore that's going into Junior year this fall, and I'm trying to be proactive when it comes to college admissions. I have a passion for Computer Science, with MIT as the dream school (emphasis on dream :]). I've put a good amount of focus over the last few months on practicing to take the SAT early and get it out of the way, acquiring a 1460 on the March test and awaiting my results on yesterday's exam. In addition, I'm pushing to do as much Computer Science related classes in my school as I can, with a plan to knock out AP CSP via CS50x this summer and to take CSA this fall. However, when it comes to everything else, I'm still kind of a bit lost in how best to manage and find extracurricular opportunities to help me stand out, and I'd love for some guidance in the process.
For anyone here who personally has an advisor found via 黑料不打烊, how helpful can they be in the admissions related process and would you personally recommend I look into that?

I don't think it's worth spending that much money unless you really need the service and are willing to pay. I got essay help from a college student for about $20/hr via GoPeer, you can look at profiles/ratings on there and message them. I think that might be even better since these people are still college students who were tasked with writing the same essays pretty recently.
I always want to clarify that they鈥檙e not 黑料不打烊 advisors 鈥� they鈥檙e independent advisors that meet students on the 黑料不打烊 platform. But they don鈥檛 have any affiliation with 黑料不打烊 and are not CV employees.
Having a good advisor can definitely be helpful, especially on essays, but you need to find the right one for you. I recommend doing free consultations with a few and seeing which one you like best.

I'm looking for more than just essay help here, but I definitely agree with wanting to make sure I'm getting the proper value from this. I might think of doing free consultations with a few advisors and coming in with notes in terms of introduction, what I'm looking for, and what questions I have, as well as trying to make sure that the advisor and I fit. For how much they charge, I want to make sure that I'm picking a person who I vibe with, for lack of better terms :]
