EC advice?(community service)Answered
I鈥檓 a rising junior hoping to apply to a top college for premed. I鈥檝e done a decent amount of community service as an EC so far, but it鈥檚 very spread out around different hobbies of mine. For summary:
32 hours volunteering at an animal shelter
31.5 hours volunteering at a hospital
? Hours in a school club that makes personalized books for kids at a childrens hospital (I鈥檝e illustrated two and am hoping for a leadership position next year)
2 hours 馃槄 at a Red Cross club
Like 25 hours at a tutoring program that I have a leadership role in
Is it okay that they鈥檙e spread out like this? Should I list each activity individually for them or do college apps allow you to just write your service as a big chunk of hours?

Listing out each activity as you have done is exactly what colleges are looking for! You can count each of these community service activities as separate extracurriculars on your activities list.
It's good to have experience in different areas too, since it shows that you are well-rounded. At the same time, make sure to in medicine through your other activities. Hope this helps!

Thank you! My only concern is not being able to list all my activities (I鈥檝e heard you can only do 7?) because I鈥檓 also involved in a few academic competitions, an instrument and a sport
