Any last second ideas?

My grades and scores have always been fine and my ECs are OK, not excellent. I have done summer internships and coding programs, have played basketball since freshman year, am the president of National Honor Society, and have a decent amount of volunteering. However, I honestly did not accomplish much during quarantine and I feel like that significantly hurts my resume. Do yall have any suggestions on things I could do between now and admission deadlines to strengthen my application? I plan on applying for Comp Sci at top schools around the country.

Hey @zeze23! I wouldn't be too worried about a lack of productivity during the height of the pandemic because colleges are expecting this. The common app even allows you to provide a supplemental short answer explaining how the pandemic affected you. However, if you want to strengthen your application as a prospective computer science student, getting a certification in a coding language/coding skill never hurts. It enhances the skill set already demonstrated by your internships.

Hey @zeze23, I am doing the same thing as you! From what I have heard, colleges understand it was difficult to do many things during quarantine. Many students had little access to opportunities. However, it shows that you did not let it affect you. After Covid, you have continued to play basketball and have become the President of your NHS. If you show how the quarantine motivated you to get more involved in your activities after it was over, you could craft the "lesson" of "valuing your chances and time" into supplemental or even your common app essay.

Although you may not have done many academic things during the pandemic, if you did anything to improve your skills or state of mind, it is worth to tell even that!

Hope this helps! Let me know if you think of anything to, good luck!
