The California State Universities have removed many things from their application, I want to know how to stand out. Answered
Since the California State Universities are test blind, don't require essays, and don't have an activities list, how can I stand out with just my grades and courses? How can I be a better candidate?

Yes, the options are more restricted, but there are still ways to stand out. One way you could do is get in contact with the admissions officer and ask questions about the school to show demonstrated interest. Taking a campus visit and going to their information sessions would also show significant interest. At the end of the day, they want to admit students who end up going to their school.
If they don't have many of these holistic measures, then make sure your grades are top-notch and take many challenging and AP courses. This way, they'll have no reason to reject you.
San Jose State, for example, has an average UW gpa of 3.52. Therefore, to best stand out just get substantially above that metric. Shoot for at least an unweighted of 3.65 ideally. Make them have no reason to reject you. Good luck.

Thank you so much! This really helped. I went on an SJSU campus tour and attended online info sessions. My grades are pretty good, but I have not taken many AP classes. I hope that is not too detrimental to my application.
