What should I do to make my college application better?
Answered

(Sorry if this is the wrong community, just looking for general advice)

Hi, I'm a rising junior, and I want to apply mainly to colleges in the midwest, USA. I'm going to go into college for an english degree, so that I can either go into law or education.

I should just get straight to the point, so: my unweighted GPA is 3.6, and my psat was 1220 (but I have been taking SAT practice since then so I think that my actual SAT will be above 1300). I have taken 2 AP's so far, 8 honors classes, and 3 regular credit classes. Next year, junior year, I will be taking AP Lang, DC German 3, DC US history, Honors Precalc, and Regular Physics.

My question is what should I do in my junior and senior years to make, specifically, the academic side of my college application look better? What classes should I change for my junior year, what classes should I take in my senior year? Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance, and thanks for reading through my question.

I recommend taking more AP classes, especially in humanities subjects. It would look good to take AP US History instead of DC US History during your junior year. AP English Language and AP English Literature are two classes that you should prioritize taking during your senior year if possible. Hope this helps!
