How does taking over 40 community college class effect your application?
Answered

I鈥檝e taken over 60 credit hours of community college classes at Santa Monica College, I鈥檓 about to start my senior year of high school. I was wondering how colleges will view my transcripts, my community college GPA is much higher than my high school GPA (3.85 cc GPA versus 3.1 high school unweighted, 7 AP classes and honors as well).

I鈥檝e really enjoyed the classes at SMC and I鈥檝e found the work more enjoyable in some ways. I just don鈥檛 know if my high school GPA keeps me out of reach for top universities. (I got 34 on the ACT). Thanks for your help!

I think schools will definitely notice your college credits so that may give you somewhat of an advantage, although, I do advice that you also work on your high school GPA as most selective schools only consider applicants with a 3.7 or 3.8 GPA(depending on the school). But your ACT score looks pretty good!
