What can I do during the summer in the Covid-19 crisis? What counts? Is it only summer-programs?
I am from Brazil, and I'm not sure how I should spend my summer here. Summer programs and internships are not very common here, it is especially hard to find internships during the Covid-19 pandemic. Is there anything I could do from home that is still valuable for colleges?

Participating in activities such as research or community service would help! For example, during COVID-19, making masks or writing letters to first responders is a trend. Doing things that are associated with your preferred major that would also help a lot of people is what colleges enjoy. For example, if you were passionate about music, organizing and performing a zoom concert with friends and recording it for first responders would be significant. If you were interested in writing, reaching out to a local newspaper or magazine that may be willing to publish your work. These are just a few examples, but anything creative + associated with your major would be beneficial.
I would answer a blog preferably relating to your major in some fashion. I personally use google sites. You can also do other writing stuff such as essay practice. Also there are Coursera, EdX, Udemy programs that can teach you other skills. I am taking a Python coding course on Udemy but it is not just coding there are other stuff too.
