Okay, probably a silly question, but how do I assign my recommenders on Common App? I've asked my teachers already, but I don't want to mess up this step. Can someone who's done it already walk me through it, please?
Absolutely, it's not a silly question at all! Many students get a little stuck on this part. First, you'll need to log in to your Common App account. Once you're there, click on the 'My Colleges' tab and select one of the colleges you're applying to. From there, you can navigate to the 'Recommenders and FERPA' section. It's essential to complete the FERPA Release Authorization first; please take your time to read through it carefully and make your decision. After you've completed the FERPA section, you'll be able to invite recommenders. You'll need to provide their email addresses, and they'll receive an invitation to submit their letters on your behalf. Make sure to invite your recommenders well in advance of deadlines and inform them of the necessary steps they need to follow. It's also a courteous move to remind them a few weeks before the deadline. Good luck with your application, and don't hesitate to ask for help if you need further assistance!
