MIT is my dream school because of its strong tech and entrepreneurial culture, but I know it's a reach for almost everyone. What are some other schools with a similar focus on innovation and technology that I might have a better chance of getting into? Also, how do their vibes compare to MIT's? Thanks!
Hi there! It's great that you're already thinking about contingency plans. A few schools known for their tech and entrepreneurial spirit like MIT are Stanford, Caltech, and Carnegie Mellon. Stanford particularly is lauded for its links to Silicon Valley and startup culture, fostering a bustling hub of innovation. Caltech, smaller and intensely focused on science and engineering, offers a tight-knit community with a strong emphasis on research and discovery. Carnegie Mellon is renowned for its computer science and robotics programs, and it brings together a diverse set of creative and tech-savvy individuals. All these schools have strong collaborative environments, although the intensity and social vibes can vary compared to MIT's unique 'hacker culture'. Each institution has its own distinctive ethos, so I'd recommend delving into the student life sections on their websites and visiting campuses if possible to get a true feel for each place. Exploring each university鈥檚 specific culture will help you understand where you might fit best. Wishing you the best in your search!
