Hi everyone! I'm about to start my freshman year of high school, and I'm feeling a bit stressed. What are some key tips to survive and thrive during freshman year? Are there any must-know study tips, extracurricular advice, or general life hacks to make the experience more manageable? Thank you in advance!
Hello! Starting high school can definitely be overwhelming, but with a few strategies, you can make your freshman year a success. It's important to develop effective study habits early on. Try to establish a consistent study schedule and a distraction-free workspace鈥攊t will make a huge difference in managing your workload. My daughter found it really helpful to get a planner to time out her work with other activities and stay on top of her assignments.
Joining extracurricular activities is also a plus; it helps you build a network of peers and explore your interests. I'd encourage you to go to your school's club fair and explore all the options and sign up for things that sound interesting. However, remember to maintain a balance and not overcommit; it's okay to start with one or two activities you really enjoy.
Lastly, don鈥檛 hesitate to ask for help when you need it鈥攚hether it's reaching out to teachers for academic support, talking to counselors if you're feeling stressed, or connecting with your friends and loved ones. You might not realize it, but there are so many people there for you as you navigate this tough transition. Good luck!
