Hey everyone, I'm working on my FAFSA and was wondering if the order I list the colleges in matters? Should I list my top choice first or is there some strategy to the order? Thanks!
Hello! The order in which you list the colleges on your FAFSA doesn't typically impact your financial aid, as each college will receive the same information and evaluate your financial aid package independently. However, some states may require that you list state-funded colleges in a specific order for you to be considered for certain state grants or aid programs.
To ensure you don't miss out on any potential aid from your state, I'd recommend checking with your state's department of education to see if there are any specific listing requirements. If there are no such requirements, you can list the colleges in any order you prefer. It's important to make sure you include all the colleges you're applying to so they all receive the necessary information to determine your financial aid package. Good luck with your FAFSA and college applications!
