Hey, folks! As a junior applying to UT Austin, I was wondering if they track demonstrated interest? Like, should I be attending virtual events, emailing the admissions office, and stuff like that? Would that affect my acceptance chances?
Hello! UT Austin typically doesn't consider demonstrated interest in their admissions process. Their focus is on your academic record, test scores (if you submit them), essays, and extracurricular activities. However, attending virtual events and connecting with the admissions office can provide you with valuable information about the university, their programs, and what they're looking for in applicants. This can help you tailor your application and essays to better reflect what UT Austin values.
While it may not directly boost your acceptance chances, it can indirectly aid in presenting a strong, well-informed application that aligns with the university's expectations. So, feel free to participate in these activities to gather useful information and insights, but don't expect it to be a decisive factor in your admissions decision. Good luck with your application!
