Hey, I'm hoping to stay in the South for college and I'm curious鈥攈ow many HBCUs are in Georgia? Any personal favorites and why?
Hello! In Georgia, there are currently 10 HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) that you can consider. Here's a quick list:
1. Albany State University
2. Clark Atlanta University
3. Fort Valley State University
4. Interdenominational Theological Center
5. Morehouse College
6. Morehouse School of Medicine
7. Paine College
8. Savannah State University
9. Spelman College
10. Morris Brown College (recently regained its accreditation)
As for personal favorites, Spelman College and Morehouse College stand out as two prominent HBCUs in Georgia. Spelman College is a highly-ranked institution for women and is well-known for its strong academic programs and support in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
Morehouse College, an all-male institution, has a reputation for its focus on social justice and leadership. Ultimately, the 'best' HBCU would depend on your personal preferences and what you're looking for in a college experience.
