Haven鈥檛 been able to find much info鈥攊s there an HBCU associated with Texas Christian University? If there is, how does it integrate with the larger university environment?
Hello! I understand you're looking for information about Texas Christian University (TCU) and its connection to a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). To clarify, TCU is not an HBCU; it is a private, coed university that is associated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
HBCUs are institutions established before the Civil Rights Act of 1964 with the intention of primarily serving the African-American community. While TCU has a diverse student body and offers a variety of programs designed to support inclusion and cultural diversity, it does not have the designation of an HBCU.
To gain insight into what it's like at TCU, I'd recommend reaching out to the University's Office of Diversity and Inclusion. They can provide you with information about their programs and initiatives that foster a supportive environment for students from all backgrounds. Also, the TCU student life webpage is a great resource to learn more about campus activities and organizations that reflect the school's commitment to a diverse and inclusive community.
