I'm starting to plan out my college visits and I'm really interested in experiencing the campus vibe during a normal week. Does anyone know when spring break usually happens at HBCUs, or where I might find this info? Trying to avoid visiting when everyone's away on break!
Spring break can vary from one HBCU to another, but most commonly, you'll find that they are scheduled around March or early April. Each college has its own academic calendar, which should be listed on the school's official website. Usually, you can find it by searching for the 'academic calendar' in their site's search bar or by checking under the 'Current Students' or 'Registrar's' sections. If you鈥檙e interested in a few specific HBCUs, I鈥檇 recommend making a list and visiting each school's website to jot down their respective spring break weeks. That way, you鈥檒l have a clear idea of when the campus will be filled with students bustling between classes, club meetings, and social activities. Just remember, the actual atmosphere can also be influenced by midterms or other major campus events, so try to contact the admissions office鈥攖hey can give you insight on the best time to visit. Good luck with your visits, and I hope you find the perfect fit!
