Hey guys, I've been actively involved in a bunch of extracurriculars and competitions and I've managed to secure a few awards. I'm wondering where exactly in the Common App I should be listing these accomplishments. Is there a specific section for awards and acknowledgements where I can showcase what I've earned throughout high school?
Absolutely, there's a place for all those fantastic achievements you've worked so hard for! In the Common App, you'll find a section titled 'Activities' where you can list your extracurricular involvements. You can enter up to 10 activities and arrange them in order of importance to you. For each activity, you鈥檒l be given space to describe what you did and any leadership roles you held.
Additionally, there's a separate 'Honors' section where you can list up to 5 awards or recognitions. This would be the right place to highlight competitions and accolades you鈥檝e earned. When listing them, present the most prestigious or relevant awards first, as this will catch the attention of admissions officers. If you've got more than 5 awards, prioritize them based on relevance to your intended major or the ones that demonstrate your highest level of achievement. Best of luck with your application!
