Hi guys! I'm currently a junior with a 3.33 unweighted, 3.66 weighted and 3.91 UC Weighted. My sophomore year, I took 2 AP's (AP Seminar and AP World), both of which I got a four. I also took an honors class that year, along with 2 electives. This year, I'm taking 3 AP's and 4 dual enrollment courses, along with an honors course and 2 electives. I've been taking journalism since my freshman year and have been an editor for the past two years. I also played a sport and managed a sport, along with being a SkillsUSA competitor and volunteering at a local hospital. I plan on getting a job and taking more AP's, but so far, what schools seem most likely to accept me---or what should I reach for. I plan on majoring in English, Philosophy or Journalism and want to be a lawyer in the future. I'm probably gonna go test optional and chances are my essay is going to carry.

Hey, I know this might seem a stretch, But I think you should apply for a few ivies. You will need a killer essay, and good recommendation letters. If you take the SAT/ACT tests, study hard and get really good scores. Harvard's English and law programs are phenomenal. Maybe add a few more AP classes next year, colleges look at how many ap classes your school offers and how many classes you took out of that number.

I don't know if you want to apply to Ivies but your GPA is low for them so I would recommend pushing it up in junior & senior year. I would also bump up ECs as they are good enough for most universities, but Ivies would need higher stats. If you're not planning for Ivies I would apply to the UCs as Berkeley, UCLA, Irvine and Santa Barbara have strong English programs. NYU is a good reach too. Rutgers and UPitt are great for Philosophy
