College reqs

Hi! I'm a highschool junior looking for college recommendations. I'd prefer colleges on the east coast that are located in cute, small college towns and give generous financial aid. I'm looking to major in cell biology as I want to be a Cytologist. I have a 3.975 GPA, 1130 PSAT score, I plan on completing around 4 APS by graduation, I've taken around 10 HS honors classes, and I'm enrolled in college courses as well. I'm in HOSA and Chick-fil-A Leader Academy, I plan on volunteering at the hospital in a lab setting and I plan on joining Peer Leadership my senior year.

Hey! You鈥檝e got a really strong profile 鈥 that GPA and all the honors/APs plus HOSA and leadership stuff definitely stand out. For what you鈥檙e looking for, a few schools come to mind:

Amherst, Bowdoin, Williams, Colby, Bates 鈫 all in small towns, all meet full demonstrated need, and have great undergrad science opportunities.

Swarthmore (PA) and Colgate (NY) also fit the vibe of a classic college town with strong bio programs.

For slightly less selective but still good financial aid, look at Bucknell (PA) or even some SUNYs with honors programs if you want a financial safety net.

Definitely run the Net Price Calculators on each school鈥檚 website 鈥 aid packages can vary a lot. Also, your planned hospital lab volunteering will tie in really nicely with your interest in cytology, so be sure to highlight that in essays.

Good luck 鈥 you鈥檙e in a great position!
