School recommendations please
Hi, I am a sixteen year old junior, and I while I don't know exactly what I want to major in, I know I want to work as a physicist that studies what is inside black holes and conducts experiments on quantum mechanics.
Here's my current stats and preferences:
- 3.13 Unweighted/3.06 Weighted GPA (as of beginning of junior year)
- Planning to take 2 AP classes spanning three terms during senior year (I'm on a trimester system)
- Taken ACT twice (neither with writing), and my highest composite was a 30
-Have not taken SAT, but have taken PSAT with a total score of 1270
-Want a college located in or around Alabama (my home state), but wouldn't say no to anything far out-of-state.
If anyone could give me some good university and major recommendations, it'd be highly appreciated.
Welcome Zarial! Since you want to study physics, presumably astrophysics, majoring in Physics, or Astronomy, first, then doing a master is probably your best bet if you want to stay in state. Auburn is known on a global scale for its plasma physics research, as well as aerospace engineering.
I would recommend either the University of Alabama or Auburn University. I haven't been to either of them, but I've heard good things, and they have a physics program.
