What Degree Should I Consider?

So, I want to do something with agriculture or biology in college and wish to manage my own farm or become a part of an existing one OR to study wildlife and work for the government.

My main thing would be to LOVE what i'm studying, I still don't know how i feel about studying agriculture because I've always been interested in animals and in the environment, so idk guys!

Could the farm come later and i could focus on what I want now? And even if I focused on the now, I still haven't found any programs that would help me balance my interests. Please help!

EDIT: im based in NC, and am looking at NCSTATE and the college of greensboro as some of my options, are there any other colleges with focuses in STEM??

Hi there! I recommend looking at Delaware Valley University...it's in southeast PA and was originally a farm school. Now it has expanded its majors and they have a great variety of science, especially plant/animal related programs. It's my goal to get a degree in horticulture there...super cool hands-on training approach to their programs!

I know it's pretty far from where you live, but I don't think they charge extra for out of state students...they said they even try to match the scholarship money/aid your state schools offer you, to the best of their ability.

As far as choosing a major, here's a post I wrote about that topic specifically. I hope it is helpful. Please feel free to comment with any questions! It is my pleasure to assist peers.

If you study animals, the environment, you can still come back to farming later 鈥 with a short course, work experience, or even start a farm with your biology knowledge!
