Private Schools?
Hey, I'm a current junior in California. I have my eyes on all the UC's currently, but I was wondering which private schools across the country I should have my eyes on.
Here are my stats:
Academics
- 4.0 gpa unweighted/ 4.4 weighted
- 6 - 7 AP's (targeted)
- Top 5% in my class
Extra-curriculars
- Model UN
- Speech and Debate
- MSA
- Advocacy group at local mosque
- ACLU National Advocacy Institute
- (hopefully) Interneship with a running candidate
Demographics
- South Asian
- Female
- Muslim
- Middle-Class
- US Resident
I am planning to be a political science major
Georgetown has an amazing political science program! I am also majoring in political science, and it is a dream school. It is a bit of a reach but with your stats you definitely have a chance! University of Michigan also has a great PoliSci program but it is a public school so do with that what you will! Good luck!
Definitely look up "private colleges/universities with political science program," then see which schools you might be interested in by reading through their websites and vibe checking from there. Although there's one thing you should consider: You get the opportunity to get more experience if you're in/near large cities (especially DC, although any large city could work, just make sure you do ample resource)
