Should I Apply?
I鈥檓 currently a Texas incoming senior thinking about applying to Rice University for music (education most likely). I鈥檓 very involved in the music department (President of Tri M Music Honor Society, jazz band, 2 orchestra groups), have a 6.6 GPA, and am ranked 11 out of 662. However, my downfall was my SAT scare of 1100. Regardless, I鈥檓 applying test optional everywhere, but my chances at Rice are 12%. I鈥檓 already applying to UTSA, UNT, and Texas A&M, and they鈥檙e all safeties.
Should I even attempt to apply for Rice? Or should I just stick to the 3 safeties and not waste my time?
