I live in Turkey and I want to study in the USA. In our education system, high schools have levels like universities. So not everyone can study at every high school. I'm studying in one of the top 10 nationally ranked high schools. My problem is that I can't afford to study in America. My family is 4 people and our annual income is around 35.000$. We already have expenses for my sister and me to go to high school, for my dad to commute to work, and many other things. If we divide 35.000$ by 4 (the number of people), my share is 8.000$ per year maximum. All the universities I want to apply to at least cost 50.000$. And only the plane tickets are 1000$. Scholarships are also useless because most scholarships require American citizenship. Even if we spent my family's annual income entirely on me, there is no way for me to fulfil my needs. Sometimes I see that some entrepreneurs or wealthy individuals help the education of some students. Not like a scholarship. They keep in touch with the student and take care of the education of that student like his family. They offer support as the student expresses his needs, they follow him close. Where can I find such people? Is there anyone around you who has benefited from such a person? Is there anyone in your neighbourhood who can provide such help? If I am supported, I can be a much more successful person, I believe in myself.
