How do I go to college out of state?

I have a 4.3 weighted GPA and a 3.9 unweighted GPA. My ACT score isn鈥檛 the strongest, with a 19 composite, but I鈥檓 working to improve. I will need financial aid to attend college and am fully willing to participate in work-study programs to help cover costs. Any other tips that can help?

Since you鈥檙e already apply for FAFSA and financial aid and are going to work, your other options are to search and complete scholarships in outside sources (like bold.org, goingmerry, etc.) AND the college鈥檚 scholarship. Also, look up 鈥渃ost programs [(or financial aid)] in (the state the college you鈥檙e going to)鈥 and AI or websites should pop up to tell you about them and to see if you qualify. For example, California has WUE which is a reciprocal agreement that allows students from participating Western states (there is a list online) to attend public colleges and universities in other participating states at a reduced tuition rate (usually they can pay in state tuition). Just do some research! You got this!!

Private colleges and universities cost the same regardless if you come from that state or not, where public colleges charge more if you are coming out of state, if that helps. I also notice some places offer aid to bordering states or those where a large donor originated.
