There are many ways to save for college. The most common being a summer job while other methods are seeking merit-based aid and scholarships. Furthermore, your college search is crucial in determining the cost for college鈥攊n-sate, OOS, the university鈥檚 endowment, the university鈥檚 general aid offers, etc.

IMO, I would start with your college search. This so that you can plan well-before deadlines and what-not. Moreover, you and your family will be able to assess the full price tag of your education.

Secondly, I would apply to as many scholarships as you can. Big and small. I encourage you to view a previous discussion reply of mine: ( /c/paying-for-college/14355/let-s-support-each-other-on-our-scholarship-journey ).

Lastly, (or secondly), I鈥檇 seek a job that can help ease your expenses into college. Money from a job will go more so toward your personal expenses such as travel, dorm accommodations, and extras, rather than tuitions鈥攂ut adjust as you see fit.

Hope this helps!!

There are also plenty of articles out there, but much of them are targeted toward 鈥減arents saving for their child鈥檚 education鈥, but I鈥檓 sure they can offer insight all the same. Good luck
